Free community events celebrate new amenities and tenant partnerships

Highland Village, TX — The Shops at Highland Village is proud to announce SUMMER VIBES, a new season-long event series hosted in The Backyard. The center’s newly redeveloped northern courtyard is in front of AMC Theatres. Originally completed in Fall 2024 and officially grand opened in Spring 2025, The Backyard was designed as a central gathering place for families, friends, and the broader Highland Village community.
Kicking off on June 12, The Shops at Highland Village will host a curated lineup of family-friendly SUMMER VIBES events. Local tenants including Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Whole Foods Market, Inspire Yoga, and Adventure Kids Playcare will participate in bringing these activations to life, further emphasizing the center’s commitment to community connection and experiential engagement.
SUMMER VIBES Event Lineup at The Backyard
- Thursday, June 12 | 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Ice Cream Social Kickoff Event: Celebrate summer’s arrival with complimentary ice cream for the first 75 guests, courtesy of Ben & Jerry’s, plus a live DJ, an interactive juggler, and outdoor games.
- Tuesdays, June 17 and July 15 | 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM | Kids Crafting: Hands-on, seasonal crafts for kids in collaboration with Whole Foods Market.
- Saturday, June 21 | 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM [updated 6/17/25] | International Day of Yoga: Free Session All-ages yoga session hosted by Inspire Yoga to celebrate mindfulness and movement in the open air. All guests will receive a Shops-branded water bottle, while supplies last.
- Wednesday, July 2 | 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM | Story Time: Families are invited to a lively story hour with Adventure Kids Playcare.
- Thursdays, July 10, 17, 24, 31 | 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM Sounds of Summer Concert Series: Enjoy live music under the stars featuring nostalgic mixtape hits every Thursday evening in July from local singer songwriters.
- Thursday, July 24 | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM | Backyard Bash: Celebrate summer’s finale with family-friendly fun! Enjoy a petting zoo, face painting, balloon artists, a Learning Express pop-up, and sweet treats from Whole Foods Market. Arrive early- the first guests will receive a complimentary Shops-branded picnic blanket, and attendees have the chance to enter to win a picnic basket filled with Whole Foods Market goodies.
